Play-to-Win: Rules and Participation Guide

What is Play-to-Win?

Play-to-Win is a special event at Ludicon that allows you to explore new games while having the chance to win a free copy! With games donated by our partner publishers, you can play throughout the weekend and enter the drawing for each game you’ve tried.

How Does it Work?

Choose a Game: Visit our Play-to-Win area and pick one of the available games. We have between 60 and 70 different titles for you to enjoy!

Play: Sit down, have fun with your friends or other participants, and explore the game’s mechanics.

Enter Your Name: Once your game session is over, each player can enter their name for that game into our system. This is your chance to win that game! Each participant must present their badge in order to be entered.

Drawing: At the end of the event (Sunday), we will hold a drawing for each game. If your name is drawn, you win the copy of the game you played!

Rules and Guidelines

Game Availability: All Play-to-Win games will be available for play throughout the weekend, from the start of the event until Sunday afternoon.

Fair Participation: Any participant who plays a game is eligible to enter the drawing, regardless of whether they won the game or not.

High Demand Games: To ensure fair access, each participant can only enter once per game per day during the convention. If you play the same game on another day, you can be entered once again for that game.

One Game Per Winner: To allow more people a chance to win, each participant can only win one game. If your name is drawn for a game, you will not be eligible to win other games, even if you have entered multiple times.

Participation Requirements

Be Registered: Participants must have a valid Ludicon badge to take part in Play-to-Win.

Transparent Participation: Everyone entering the drawing must have actually played the game during the event.

Communication and Visibility

The Play-to-Win area will be clearly marked. Look for signs indicating the location of the games.

A guide (this document) explaining the rules and the entry process will be available on-site to help you participate.

Drawings and Prize Distribution

The drawing for all Play-to-Win games will take place on Sunday afternoon at around 5:00 or 6:00 PM. Please note that the Play-to-Win area will close at 4:00 PM on Sunday to finalize entries for the draw.

How to Win:

At the time of the draw, winners for each game will be determined randomly based on entries received.

The list of winners will be posted in a designated area at the convention hall, on our website, and on our Facebook page.

To claim your prize, simply present yourself to a member of the staff and show your badge.

IMPORTANT - Prize Pick-Up Requirement: Winners must pick up their prize between the time the winners are announced (between 4:00 PM and 5:00 PM) and the closing of the convention at 8:00 PM. Even if your badge is for another day (e.g., Friday or Saturday), you must return on Sunday to collect your game if you win. If you cannot pick up your prize during that time, it will be forfeited and added to the Ludicon Library.
